MetaDefender Core™ v5.16.0 Release

MetaDefender Core now includes a dedicated UI for managing SameSite cookie settings. This improves control over cookie behavior in cross-site scenarios, helping administrators align with modern browser security standards and reduce the risk of CSRF (Cross-Site Request Forgery) attacks.

Administrators can now configure alerts for SSL certificates that are approaching expiration. The notification window is customizable, allowing teams to receive reminders in advance (for example, seven days before expiry). This helps prevent service disruptions and ensures secure communication remains uninterrupted.

MetaDefender Core now aligns with CIS Level 2 benchmarks. This enhancement supports organizations that require stricter security controls, including those in government, defense, and financial sectors.

To meet regulatory mandates such as those from government and banking institutions. MetaDefender Core now logs action statuses with a default retention period of one month. This provides traceability for sensitive operations and simplifies compliance reporting.

Users can now search for file types directly within the Deep CDR interface. This eliminates the need to browse manually through each type and significantly speeds up workflow configuration.

Users can now enter up to 10 passwords in the scanning UI when uploading encrypted files. MetaDefender Core will automatically match the correct password, including for nested archives, improving scan coverage and reducing manual effort.

MetaDefender Core now adds an option to process predefined child file types within Office documents, even when the parent file is blocked under the Block-All-Except policy in the Blocklist engine. This enables more granular control over embedded content and supports stricter enforcement of file handling rules.

Scan history can now be exported on a per-workflow basis. This gives administrators more control over audit logs and simplifies reporting for specific teams or use cases.

Storage status is now recorded in system logs. This helps administrators monitor capacity and take proactive action before storage limits impact performance.

Adaptive Sandbox analysis results can now be exported in multiple formats including JSON and HTML. This makes it easier to share findings, integrate with external tools, or generate reports for stakeholders.

SBOM (Software Bill of Materials) reports can now be exported in PDF format for both archive and non-archive files. This supports supply chain transparency and helps organizations meet software integrity requirements.
